Q. WHO is THE GAUCHO?
answer: The Gaucho is more or less a dying breed of Freedom Lovin' South American Comboys with a nomadic lifestyle. More importantly are you a Gaucho? A Gaucho demostrates the attitude of gratitude at all times and enjoys the company of others with the Rite of Yerba Mate.
Q.Why is the Gaucho Happy?
answer: The Gaucho is happy because he has his mate to share with company, stories to tell, a place to rest his head and the freedom to roam the Great Outdoors.
Q. What does Yerba Mate Taste like?
answer: The flavor of Yerba Mate varies on the brand, type and blend of other herbs. Do you remember the time before you had tried beer, coffee, or green tea? Yerba Mate like many teas is what some call an aquired taste. Some refer to mate having an alfalfa "esque" taste. I don't know if I agree with that but after trying it a few times and experiencing the changes in my body, Wow did I like it. Bold. Earthy. Natural. Relaxing. Aromatic. These are the words I think of when passing around "the Mate"
Q. How often can I drink Yerba Mate?
answer: How often should you brush your teeth? You can never get enough of a good thing!
Q. Does Yerba Mate Contain Caffiene?
Ooo...this is gonna be a big one.
In opposition to what some Yerba Mate Vendors will tell you, YES yerba
mate does contain caffeine also referred to by some as mateine, our
most recent scientific research shows that yerba mate does contain some
caffeine, though it is mucho, mucho lower than coffee and even lower
than traditional Green Tea. Yerba Mate also contains other chemical
properties that your body uses as energy enhancers yet does not produce
'the coffee effect' i.e. feeling like s*#% shortly after your first
8 cups of the day.
Q. My yerba mate is growing mold, how can I fix/prevent this?
answer: If your mate is growing mold ...you should probably focus on cleaning your mate more often. Cleaning out old Yerba at least once every 24 hours is good practice.
note:
We have never had the pleasure of dealing with the funky, fuzzy white
stuff and hope we never do. Another surefire way to make sure your mate
does not blossom a mold factory is by carefully following our gourd
curing process, which uses Salt water to sterilize your gourd which
is in FACT a plant.
